Tom McCarthy has Passed Away

It is with great sorrow that we have learned that Tom McCarthy has passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Tom McCarthy was the founder of Thunderhill, a man with 24+ patents, a contractor for Bill Gates and Steve Jobs and the biggest fan of grandson racer Tommy McCarthy.

Tom held many positions in the club, he joined SCCA in 1963 and quickly attended drivers school in 1964. He went on to be a successful racers winning multiple championships. He was also an active member of the club, elected to the Board of Directors and also served as Regional Executive.

His passing is a great loss to the club and racing.

Tom McCarthy, services will be held on Tuesday, February 27th at Saint Simons (1840 Grant Rd Los Altos, CA 94024 United States) at 1pm. Immediately following will be the reception at Saint Stephens Green (223 Castro St. Mountain View, CA 94041 United States).

All are welcome to both events. Food will be served at the reception.
