IndyCar has selected SCCA San Francisco Region Spec Racer Ford as Supporting Races at the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey, September 2022.

The Laguna Seca Event is a “ONCE IN A LIFE TIME OPPORTUNITY” for the Spec Racer Community to show the exciting, close, competitive racing in the region

The Race Weekend will be September 9th, 10th, & 11th (Friday thru Sunday). The Support Races will be run within the IndyCar Schedule, and will consist of two 30 minute practice sessions on Friday 9/9. On Saturday 9/10 there will be one 30 minute qualifying session and two 30 minute races (2 ½ Hours of Total Run Time). Detailed schedule will be posted at a later time. Trophies will be awarded for both races (1st, 2nd, & 3rd). Podium ceremonies are planned.

Registration for this event will be on MotorSportsReg.com starting June 5th and end July 15th. This event is limited to 35 drivers. The 35 drivers for this event will be selected and notified July 21st. Selection criteria will be based on performance in the Region, and will include competitiveness in the region, participation in regional events, and membership in the region.

Interested drivers should register MSR beginning June 5. Registration Fees for the weekend event will be $1,750.00. No fees will be collected until after driver selections are made. There will be a waiting list kept current after driver selections are made.
